How to Paint in Rust: A Comprehensive Guide for In-Game Artists

So I've spent hours upon hours messing around with the painting in Rust and I'm going to show you how to do it. This will cover everything from crafting signs to advanced painting techniques.

  1. Craft a sign: Craft a sign from the crafting menu. You can make wooden, metal or neon signs.
  2. Place your canvas: Find a spot and place your sign on a wall or surface.
  3. Open the painting interface: Approach the sign and interact with it to open the painting interface. You'll auto equip a brush.
  4. Choose your tools: Get familiar with the painting interface. Select different brushes, adjust brush size and experiment with spacing to get different effects.
  5. Paint your masterpiece: Use your mouse to paint on the sign. Switch between colors and tools to bring your vision to life.
  6. Save your work: When you're done, save it to display your art in game.

Rust painting pro tips:

  • Scroll to zoom in and out
  • Shift + Right Mouse Button to pan large signs
  • Shift + Left Mouse Button to draw straight lines
  • Right Mouse Button to rotate sign
  • Left Mouse Button to paint (duh)

Remember, practice makes perfect. Don't be afraid to try different techniques and styles as you get the hang of painting in Rust. Now you have the tools to go wild.
